Learn how to use IIS Media Services to jump-start your video experience without writing a single line of code, and use Expression Encoder to create and seamlessly publish IIS Smooth Streaming content for consumption by viewers across a wide range of user bandwidths and clients including Silverlight and iPhone. This workshop will provide a hands-on walkthrough of how to set up common scenarios such as delivering a live webcast, video sharing and digital marketing, as well as how to manage your media, protect your content and monetise with advertising by using features built into IIS Media Services.

HTML5 And Web Video Standards
This workshop will focus on the HTML5 video standard and the various options out there to support it, and will even take a look at the code of a few live HTML5 video deployments, such as the Wikipedia live video beta. Hosted by leading organisations in the open video movement—HTML5video.org and the Open Video Alliance—this workshop will highlight the benefits and challenges of working with the up-and-coming standard, the current status of HTML5 video in the market, and help differentiate between reality and hype regarding the various video standards out there today.

Encoding H.264 Video for Streaming and Progressive Download

This seminar focuses on producing H.264 video for streaming or progressive download. It will start with a deep look at key H.264 encoding parameters like B-frames, profiles and levels, as well as how to customise encoding parameters for distributing via QuickTime, Flash, Silverlight, and HTML5. After detailing how to operate the H.264-related encoding parameters in tools from Adobe, Apple, Microsoft, Sorenson and Telestream, it will then provide a brief overview of the respective quality output of these tools. You'll learn how your encoding tool compares in terms of quality and configurability, as well as how to configure your encoding tool for maximum H.264 quality.

Learn how to encode both live and on-demand video and stream it to your audience. Learn how to stream to the iPad/iPhone using IIS7, Expression Encoder, Silverlight, and QuickTime. Use the new HTML5 <video> tag to embed your video in mobile web pages and see how easily video can be included in social media. Learn what the major CDNs and online video platforms offer in the mobile streaming space now and in the future. Learn about developing video for Android devices and device-specific SDKs, and take a brief look at coding for mobile delivery. Android phones may be available for participants to use during the session, and a demonstration of live mobile streaming will give the participants a solid overview in this how-to-do-it session.
