Dr. Otto Schmidbauer joined Dialogic in December 2008 with the acquisition of NMS Communications as the Director Video Solutions EMEA. Within NMS he held several senior positions in PreSales, Professional Services, and Business Development. With his broad technical background, including voice and image/video signal processing, DSP technology and signaling protocols, Dr. Schmidbauer is actively involved in all major multi-media applications projects with large Dialogic customers in EMEA.

Dr. Schmidbauer started his professional career at Siemens Central Research Labs in Munich where he was driving the design and development of Automatic Continuous Speech Understanding systems. His professional experience includes teaching Pattern Recognition courses at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and the University of Munich. Dr. Schmidbauer holds a diploma degree in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in EE/Telecommunications, both from the Technical University of Munich. He is a member of the IEEE and has written over 40 scientific and technical articles for technical magazines.
