Dr Michael Woodley - CTO of Doovle
Michael holds an MA from the University of Oxford (Balliol) where he specialised in quantum chemistry and, in his final research year, designed and developed liquid metal ion injection guns, now being explored by NASA for the solar-electric propulsion of space vehicles. Michael holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge (St. John's) where he researched and published widely in the field of nuclear magnetic resonance, the science behind moleclar structure determination and medical MRI scanners.
Michael became a senior developer for computer recognition specialists, Cambridge Neurodynamics where he developed a 3D laser scanning facial recognition system. At Neurodynamics, Michael christened and became employee #1 and Head of Product Development for Autonomy Corporation, now listed on LSE (AU.) and regarded as one of Cambridge's truly global technology business success stories.
In 1996 Michael co-founded Green Cathedral, the Cambridge technology incubator and owner of GCDM one of the UK's largest independent digital agencies, acquired by Golley Slater Group in 2008.
Michael is the inventor of Clickstream, an unusually accurate audience measurement technology, and was a co-founder of Clickstream Technologies plc, a company that was created within Green Cathedral and fully demerged in 1999. He also co-founded Phonesync Limted, a mobile data synchronisation company spun out of Green Cathedral in 2003. Michael is the inventor of Doovle's "search inside the video" technology.
Michaels companies have appeared three times in the Sunday Times Tech Track listing which tracks the growth performance of UK technology businesses. They were also placed four times in the Deloitte & Touche European Fast 500 listings.
