“Kaltura is exploding,” says the company's VP and GM EMEA Leah Belsky. “We had over 300% revenue growth in the last six months. People should stop by Streaming Media Europe and check us out. We're established on the scene in New York and now we're bringing our full products and services to Europe.”

Leah points to the latest release of MediaSpace v4.0, which serves as a centralized video portal for organizations. Kaltura MediaSpace, often dubbed by enterprises as their "Corporate Tube" or and by universities as a "Campus Tube," allows users to integrate video into their social collaboration.

“MediaSpace is to YouTube what Yammer is to Facebook,” declares Belsky in reference to the office social network site acquired by Microsoft for $1.2bn. She said 15 education clients had boarded in the last few months, including Durham University and the University of Copenhagen.

Demonstrations of the new features in v4.0 on the stand at Olympia Conference Centre in London include enhanced support for user profiles and user generated content; native mobile support for iOS, Android, and Blackberry and built-in video authoring tools (desktop and mobile upload, webcam recording, screen-capture, video/PPT synchronization and more).

“For broadcasters we extended our ecosystem for global apps and connected TV apps, including a reference app for Google TV and new mobile SDKs for native Android and iOS that are customisable for media companies,” she said. “We are seeing a lot of uptake of apps among broadcasters and music companies.”

The mobile SDK and reference apps allow media companies to develop publishing and capture apps for smartphones and tablets. The Google TV reference app provides developers unfamiliar with Google TV interfaces and requirements with a development tool for creating apps for Google TV connected TVs and STBs. Features include a custom player with bitrate selector; managed, resumeable file upload from camera capture or gallery; sharing on Facebook, Twitter and email; browse and search with auto-complete.
