TeliaSonera Chosen to Webcast Eurovision Finals by Russian Broadcaster
When the Eurovision finals are held Saturday night in Oslo, Russian singer Peter Nalitch will be among the 20 finalists, and supporters in Russia and around the glob will be able to watch the competition live online courtesy of TeliaSonera International Carrier.
The Sweden-based carrier's Media Distribution Service has been chosen by the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) to webcast the event, which is expected to be viewed by more than 100 million people on television. TeliaSonera will stream the content to be used by VGTRK's entire portfolio of services, which includes three national TV channels, five radio stations, and of course the website, which has viewers not only in Russia but among the Russian diaspora in Europe and the United States.
TeliaSonera International Carrier lays claim to the largest fibre optic network in Europe, and says it services more than 85% of all European internet service providers.
