Xstream Intros Loading Dock Module for Supply Chain Management
With the intention of simplifying content uploads and speeding time to market, Danish end-to-end video management software company Xstream today introduced MediaMaker Loading Dock, a module that works with its MediaMaker video management system.
MediaMaker Loading Dock is targeted to OTT and TV Everywhere content providers, promising to simplify supply chain management. Specifically, it manages content aggregation, fulfillment, and transformation before it's handed off to a content management system (CMS). It manages content across devices, Xstream says, ensuring overall quality and validating the material prior to ingest.
Currently, obstacles such as changing distributor requirements and fragmented vendor delivery schedules make supply chain management a difficulty. Loading Dock helps content providers avoid those issues while managing large volumes of content and ensuring asset quality. Loading Dock integrates with Xstream's MediaMaker system, but can also be used with other video management systems.
"MediaMaker Loading Dock ensures visibility and transparence for operational tracking and control of service providers and SLAs, empowering a lean content ops team," says Christian Lillelund, senior product manager at Xstream "Importantly, MediaMaker Loading Dock is pre-integrated with the rest of the Xstream MediaMaker platform, but is a standalone and agnostic solution that can integrate with other downstream publishing systems via push/pull mechanisms."
