2015 Streaming Media Readers' Choice Winners
Each year, the result of our European Readers’ Choice Awards presents us with a status check on the players in our industry. The results of this year’s awards—our ninth annual since we began in 2007—tell us that rather than consolidating, the market is as fragmented as ever; there’s no “big winner” walking away with top honours in multiple categories.
You’ll also note that, as in years past, regional and local companies continue to make strong showings, suggesting that even as global players continue to expand into new markets, the desire to work with local vendors remains strong. What’s more, some of the companies that even two years ago could be considered regional within Europe (say, the Nordics or Eastern Europe) are now expanding their reach more broadly not just in Europe but in other markets as well.
The Streaming Media European Readers’ Choice Awards are the only awards in our industry decided upon by the people who actually use these products and services. Most of the categories are necessarily broad, lest the number of categories become unmanageable, but the winners and finalists in each represent what Streaming Media readers feel are the strongest in their class. Congratulations to this year’s winners.
