Vimond's Online TV Platform Gains Two Automation Features
Over-the-top video specialist Vimond Media Solutions announced that it's adding two content automation features to its Vimond Video Flow engine, the technology that drives its online video services: Media Importer and Content Catalogue.
With Media Importer, publishers can import assets into the Vimond Control Center (VCC) directly from their existing broadcast or media asset management systems, or from online systems including YouTube. After that, VCC can transcode and distribute the content automatically according to pre-defined rules. Media Importer will work on its own, detecting, importing, transcoding, and delivering new assets. Thanks to its graphical user interface (GUI), the system makes it easy for editors to set up new sources, says Vimond. Status updates in the GUI let editors know when new jobs are completed.
The Content Catalog feature is an organizing tool that give broadcasters more say in how their assets are displayed. Rather than organizing on standard criteria, this feature lets broadcasters select their own criteria. Vimond says publishers can organize their content as they like so that selected media is listed at the top of the catalog.
Anyone who would like a closer look at the new features should visit Vimond at stand 14.B10 during the upcoming IBC conference.
