Multi-Location Live 360 into Facebook
Karma streams live 360 from multiple locations simultaneously into Facebook for Norwegian Constitution Day
London(06 Jun 2017)
On Tuesday 17 May, Karma simultaneously live 360 streamed from multiple locations across Norway, for the celebrations around Norwegian Constitution Day. In partnership with Facebook and Norway’s National Broadcaster – TV2.
Coverage included the festivities in Oslo, the stunning beauty of Ålesund, and the Norwegian Prime Minister talking to camera in Bergen. Each live broadcast was posted onto the TV2 website with the live feeds running for up to 14 hours.
Technical Overview
Each location utilized our multi lens 360 camera rigs with weather proofing for locations with extreme weather. Rigs were created to fit in with each location. Broadcast quality microphones were used to allow the capture of the full experience for the viewers. The feeds were sent via fiber to the encoding units for streaming to Facebook 360. Internet was provided in Oslo by TV2, all other locations used the Karma remote internet technologies.
Due to the high traffic generated by the national broadcaster’s Facebook site, Facebook organized that all location posts to posted to their Facebook page along with the Prime Ministers websites.
Karma worked alongside Facebook and TV2 throughout the project.
