Net Insight to Showcase its Leadership and Innovations in Quality of Service at IBC 2012
The company will showcase new products and offer expertise on video transport over IP to address industry trends, issues, and opportunities at IBC 2012.
Stockholm, Sweden(23 Jul 2012)
At IBC 2012, Net Insight, a leading provider of efficient and scalable transport solutions for media, IP and broadcast networks, will demonstrate its unique MSR functionality that provides service-centric network management, QoS (Quality of Service) Enhanced Links and lossless routing. This functionality enables Net Insight to deliver 100 percent QoS and enhances the service integrity and performance of IP networks.
Net Insight will also showcase new products and features related to its Nimbra MSR platform. The Nimbra MSR creates service aware media networks that improve the performance of IP infrastructures through the company’s service-centric network management, QoS enhanced links and lossless routing solutions.
At IBC 2012 the company will be:
- •Launching New Products For Access
Net Insight will launch new products for the access market that are suitable for enabling remote production of live events that will offer a cost-efficient and scalable media access gateway with unique features for QoS. The company will also launch a flexible solution for QoS transport with integrated video processing and format conversion.
- •Launching Time Transfer over IP (TToIP)
Deploying GPS solely as a means for synchronizing Single Frequency (SFN) Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Networks carries the risk of jamming or spoofing of signals. Net Insight will discuss its innovative Time Transfer over IP (TToIP) solution, which addresses this challenge. TToIP is a way of providing GPS free synchronization of DTT SFN’s and is achieved through the award winning IP/Ethernet trunk interface for Net Insight's Nimbra MSR switches. This solution offers a secure and convenient way to provide accurate absolute time synchronization through the data network itself.
- •Demonstrating JPEG2000 Video Access Module with the highest port density and flexibility on the market
The company will also demonstrate its JPEG2000 video access module, which supports compression or decompression of up to two 3G-SDI, four HD-SDI or eight SD-SDI channels on one single board. In addition to JPEG2000 compressed video, the module can uniquely run all uncompressed SDI and ASI video formats, ranging from 2 Mbps ASI to 3 Gbps 3G-SDI per port. A fully equipped Nimbra 688 unit can host up to 120 video ports that can be individually configured for compressed/uncompressed, video format, frame rate and direction, which makes it the most scalable and cost-efficient video transport solution on the market. Encoding is done frame-by-frame to ensure high quality and low latency and the unique synchronous Nimbra ensures 100 percent guaranteed QoS transport.
- •Demonstrating Remote Production and Workflows
Net Insight is driving the trend towards remote workflow in production environments through transport solutions that deliver the required real-time, low latency content with 100 percent QoS. With the “death of the OB van” being touted by many, Net Insight’s remote workflow solutions can significantly improve efficiency, cost savings and quality of both remote production environments and live event production. Together with an industry partner at IBC 2012 the company will showcase a demo on how to implement remote workflows efficiently for live events by enable encoding and transcoding in the cloud.
The company will also be sharing its vision and success related to opportunities in the video transport industry:
Furthermore, Net Insight will discuss how its Nimbra platform has been used in large sporting event implementations such as the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, the IAAF World Championships in Athletics 2011 in Korea, the Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand, the FINA World Championships in July 2011 in China, the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, the 16th Asian Games 2010 in Guangzhou and 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
In addition, Net Insight has successfully forged industry trust for delivering DTT networks as it continues to win international orders for national DTT implementations from Sri Lanka, Slovenia, Sweden, Cyprus, Poland, Argentina and Morocco. Net Insight has more than 25 wins in Digital Terrestrial TV from all regions in the world and has implemented the world’s first all-IP DVB-T2 network for the national media operator Teracom AB in Sweden.
