SES Platform Services takes charge of multiscreen encoding for SKY GO
SES Platform Services, the leading media technology service provider will encode and stream up to 14 live programmes on Sky Go for Sky Germany.

Sky Deutschland has commissioned SES Platform Services with the multiscreen encoding of Sky Go’s live TV programmes. From July, the leading media technology service provider will encode and stream up to 14 live programmes on Sky Go, delivering greater flexibility for watching live television in the highest picture quality, even on the move. And the timing couldn’t be better, as it coincides with the beginning of the new German Bundesliga season. Fans already have the possibility to watch all top and second division games live with a WLAN/broadband connection over the internet on their iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Xbox 360; now they can also view matches via mobile networks (3G/4G). By encoding every live channel into six different bit rates, SES Platform Services is taking into account every possible means of programme reception. This means that even when travelling, viewers watching Bundesliga matches over Sky will have the best-possible resolution. In the coming season, matches will be entirely produced and aired in HD for the very first time.
