Streamworks Partners with RT to Provide Online Video Services
Specialist to Provide Video Infrastructure Backbone to New Video News Agency RUPTLY, member of RT media family
London(20 Nov 2012)
Streamworks International (www.streamworksint.com), a global specialist in live video, has partnered to become its strategic content delivery service for RUPTLY, a new video news agency. As part of this new partnership, Streamworks willdesign, build and manage a video news content management delivery system for RUPTLY, as well as provide streaming videos to the agency's commercial customers.
With the opening of this new video agency, Streamworks will be a key partner of RUPTLY's launch, as the new news video agency will be the only one to shoot, edit and distribute video on a "digital first" basis. As part of the agreement, Streamworks will supply software applications, proprietary hardware and platforms to RUPTLY to enable customers to access this new content. The information for this service will be accessible on the agency's website. www.RUPTLY.tv
"It is always a rare occasion when any news organization builds a new newsgathering and news-distribution infrastructure from the ground up, but it's even rarer for an outside service provider to be a part of that build," said Ray Mia, CEO of Streamworks. "Through this partnership, Streamworks is not merely providing streaming and video management services to RUPTLY, but will part of its development from the very beginning. We are proud to have worked with RUPTLY on this video news venture, as ultimately for many end users, RUPTLY's content will provide an unconventional look at news content, all from different perspectives and previously unheard voices."
RUPTLY GmbH is a fully-owned subsidiary of RT television. Launched in the summer of 2012, it is headquartered in Berlin and will operate worldwide a video news agency of a new type, conceived, launched and run by seasoned industry professionals who want to make a better product much needed in the news market.
"A partnership between RUPTLY and Streamworks International is logical. Streamworks has a cutting edge technology that is changing the video news market and RUPTLY wants to reshape that market editorially," said Denis Trunov, RUPTLY's managing director. "Both are staffed by television news industry professionals who never settle for anything less than being first. It's a natural match."
