Uniting broad- and webcast world for the first time – new encoders StreamMachine and Loop live at IBC 2014
Unterfoehring, Germany(12 Sep 2014)
For the first time the web- and broadcast world are united when it comes to live streaming. At this years IBC miniCASTER presents the latest developments in their own field of live production encoding devices. Between the 12th and 16th of September visitors will experience miniCASTERs latest development: the StreamMachine. The 19” encoder is pure innovation, being capable of doing both: covering multi camera web productions and high end broadcast studio link applications in parallel, producing streams up to 30 Mbit.
“When it comes to encoding, the TV and Internet world are very different. 99% of all webcasting is done with RTMP protocol, whereas TV broadcasting is based on UDP/RTP+FEC protocols. However, there is a growing demand of TV broadcasters to cover webcasting and ENG/TV applications at the same time. To meet this demand you would always need at least two different encoders – meaning more work and time in operating them.
miniCASTER is now offering a solution! For the first time you will need only one device: The new StreamMachine. The StreamMachine is able to send out two different streams at the same time, uniting Web and TV world perfectly. This will make your live so much easier and save you time and money. I am very proud to present you this new one-for-all encoder!” says Martin Weber, Channel Sales Director of miniCASTER
But also in the area of ultra-mobile pocket-sized encoders there is news: the new Loop. miniCASTER set the standard for ultra-mobile high quality encoding. It is a professional producers‘ choice, when it comes to reliability and versatility. The award-winning miniCASTER has now been made even better. The new Loop is ultra mobile, battery packed and as powerful as its predecessor, but with more features for professional users. It takes SDI signals, but now with interlaced encoding for broadcast signals (576i, 1080i) and a new, second SDI (out) connector for looping through the signal to a monitor, a recorder, a mixer. Giving you full control over your picture.
A new easy selection of broadcast output-modes such as SD-PAL/NTSC in 4:3/16:9, 720p50/p60, 1080i50/i60 was added, allowing to create your own custom-output-modes. With predefined output modes (video standards) the encoding profiles are now available. A new close to constant-bit-rate feature smoothens and protects the encoding signal from peaking while on UDP/TS, RTP or RTMP. The new Loop will of course also be presented live at IBC 2014.
Of course, miniCASTERs established low-cost reliable NewsSpotter satellite solutions and intelligent receiver/decoder with cost-saving relay-options and modular upgrade-possibilities via software are demonstrated, too.
Thus visitors will be able to experience the perfect interaction of miniCASTER products in a live surrounding.
